WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT: It’s all a bunch of tree-hugging hippie crap, so to speak.
SOME WORDS, PHRASES AND CLAUSES ABOUT THIS RECORD: I never would have known this album exited until I read the great book about the early, independent days of Elektra Records. I think I paid actual cash money for this instead of finding it in the library. Oof.
Rowan and Grisman are more well-known now in the bluegrass music world. This ain’t bluegrass. It’s mellow, psychedelic, meandering, hippy-dippy stuff. Oh, it’s not easy to listen to without substances.
Unless, unless you really like psychedelic folkie mellow stuff, don’t go near it. To me, it’s a baaaad trip, man. (To be honest, I heard one kind of neat psychedelic guitar part; I hope it wasn’t a mirage).
NOTES & MINUTIAE: Rowan and Grisman collaborated off and on for years.
IS THERE A DELUXE VERSION: No
GRADE: C-: Keep away from me, hippies!
